Joe Adragna Wins Top Bass Again

Joe Agragna

You talk about having a good season, good just didn't cut this year, in fact I was fortunate enough to have a great year, with close to 40 pre-fish days, a little luck and three solid partners James Beaupre, Angelo Arciero and Fabio Testa not only helped me win my fifth angler of the year title but also close to thirty thousand dollars in winnings. Yes this is a season I knew would one day happen you just don't know when.

This past summer I gave myself a break from my dog training business to further commit to my tournament season, so spare time I had plenty of and made every minute count, I was more mentally focused than I had been in the past, 80% of my pre-fish I would fish alone, I just feel more comfortable alone in the boat and figuring things out, the concentration level is almost that of tournament day, it doesn't bother me one bit that my partners can't put in as much pre-fish as me, with work and family I understand 100%, all I ask of them that when I'm on fish as a team we put them in the boat. I'm a real quiet guy in the boat my partners think I'm a little weird, most of the time they have themselves a one way conversation while I'm just talking to myself in my head figuring out the next move.

I don't normally eat or drink the whole time were fishing and that kind of has them puzzled as well, food or water just doesn't enter my mind on tourney day I just focus on the task that's on hand and try to pick-up on whatever clues mother nature throws at me in the course of the day, don't worry partners I'm not an alien our insides are all the same. Throughout the winter months I put myself through some vigorous workouts to keep these old bones in tune for the upcoming season. This was definitely the highlight year of my tournament career, but deep down inside I know with a little bit of luck that I can do better, only time will tell.
